Get a free Taco Bell Fruitista Fruit Freeze

Yep, free.

Here's the link.

Click in the lower right hand corner for the coupon. You may have to do a quick download of 'brick' if you've never printed coupons online before, but otherwise, it's as simple as that.

And if they're not your cup of tea....er....fruit slushy.....then at least go over there for the 5 seconds worth of scrolling over the cups where they describe the drinks to you. They emphasize in bold letters that they're topped with real strawberries, and even animate the toppings when you mouse over, hehe.

Yeah, I know, I shouldn't be amused. But come on, would you guys even come by if I weren't amused by the simplest of things? :P

Blog about camp?

Okay guys, this is going to be up to you. Should I attempt to blog about camp this year? I started up last year with the intent of semi-blogging the experience, but gave up rather quickly and didn't really look back.

Until this year....when the fourth person asked me if I was going to blog it this year....and do it right this time.

Darn.

People actually paid attention.

So what do you think? Think I should attempt to sorta blog it? I can't do anything too personal because we're not even allowed to have cameras on camp grounds for security reasons and I don't show myself....nor do I even really talk about myself. So would it be worth it? Is anyone curious about what goes on up there or should I just do some scheduled posts here and get back on track when I come back in a few months?

Got Milk? Oreos Spilled Everywhere!

Craziness!

(May 19, 2008)
MORRIS, Ill. (AP) - Got milk?

Police say a trailer loaded with 14 tons of double-stuffed Oreos has overturned, spilling the cookies still in their plastic sleeves into the median and roadway.

Illinois State Police Sgt. Brian Mahoney says the truck's driver was traveling from Chicago to Morris on Interstate 80 around 4 a.m. Monday when he fell asleep at the wheel and slammed into the median.

"The boxes came out of the trailer and boxes were ripped open," he said.

The crash about 50 miles southwest of Chicago remains under investigation.

Mahoney says no charges have been filed but both lanes of traffic remain closed while authorities remove the cookies.

(Stolen and republished because every news source I've come across so far deletes their content after a short amount of time, which ends up breaking links I send people to and then I have no where to send them to read the stories I want them to know about.)

Evolution of Dance (Holy Cow!)

Link to video if it doesn't play for you here.

I thought I had posted this before but I can't seem to find it, so here it is. This guy is absolutely amazing. He starts back with some older music clips and goes through to modern day stuff, all the while taking snippets of dance moves that represent that time or song. He's really funny while doing it, too, so enjoy!

Automatic posting finally!

So I haven't had the chance to really stack posts yet and I haven't in the past because if I have to stop by to manually post it, then I could just write the post then.

Now that Blogger has finally made it possible to future date posts so that they'll automatically post on that date, I'm thrilled. It's been my biggest, and pretty much only, complaint about Blogger. It seemed like every other blogging platform had the feature, so even though I preferred using Blogger, I was always jealous of that feature.

Once again, this summer I'll be away working at a camp, and won't really be here to post a whole lot. I'm really hoping to have the chance to get at least a few posts made up in advance, though. I haven't been here much lately because life is too hectic, but that means my "to blog" folder is absolutely overflowing. I have so many things I want to post about -- it's insane!

Cross your fingers that I'll catch a break between now and the time I leave, so I can get a few more posts ready to go and this place won't fall apart while I'm gone.

More Lady Language Contests

Yep, you should really check out the Lady Language blog and enter the contests (by commenting and/or subscribing) if you haven't already. I've talked about them before (and even won one!), so scuttle your way over there and jump in on the fun. You've got a chance at winning free clothes and even if you don't, you'll get a kick out of the place anyway!

This, That, and the Other---Can you figure it out?

Creative Blog Titles--Part 2

~Edit June 14, 2009)~ Since this quirk was written, I've done a new post that includes several examples of creative blog names here. I hope they give you some inspiration!~~

Back in November 2006, not long after I entered the blogging world, I made a quick post about creative blog titles I'd run across. There were only three and it was a tiny post, but little did I know that it would bring daily traffic here as I'm the top search result for "creative blog titles."

Given that the previous post doesn't do the topic justice at all, I want to do a revamped version, with more of a "how-to" twist, because that's usually what people are looking for. I have another short list of blog titles that fit the category of "creative" like llamib....or "llamas are missing in bangladesh."

But before I start, I want your input. What are some "creative" tips you'd give and are there any really out-there blog titles that are worth mentioning and I might not know about? Here's your chance to give some blog love to your pals or even toss out your own blog name (I know you lurkers are there, hehe).

Txt Ts for Teens

Text Ts--teeshirts, tshirts, t-shirts, with teen lingo, slang, text messaging, txt printed, such as idk, iyd, lmao, ^urs (up yours, urs)(iyd="in your dreams," by the way)

I was tempted just to make the title: TTT

A snippet from an intro page says:
Who really wants to look like everyone else, that is absurd! Wear it on your shirt, and say it shorter, with txt ts.
So why not make it shorter, right? I'm listing these as for teens because I really don't think most people want their 8 year olds wearing LMAO across their chests....unless, of course, they have no idea what the A stands for. If so, then maybe the ^urs would be appropriate as well (up yours, if you didn't catch that).

Although the point of this post was to enlighten you to the world of tee-shirts being made with texting "code" on them, the site also offers other varieties of t-shirts, such as a Blondie shirt for Mom or guitar booties for your latest addition to the family.

Top 20 Saltiest Foods (How does 7300mg sound?)

Hardee's Thickburger with two burger patties, cheese, bacon; bacon burger; Saltiest fast food burger

Top 20 Saltiest Foods

Even the dessert, which you would expect to have tons of sugar instead of salt, has a whopping 1720mg of sodium for one serving. The articles splits it up into different food groups like "fast food" and "saltiest 'healthy' food," so you can skip to the categories you want to get most shocked by, lol.

And that monster with 7300mg? The site calculates that you could have 32 cups of broccoli to get the same amount of sodium. Yikes. I don't usually pay much attention to sodium, but that sounds disastrous.

This dog is all decked out....in scuba gear!

You can't tell me that's not quirky, lol. Here's the caption from Yahoo:

Mondex, a 5-year-old Chihuahua, poses as he walks the aisle dressed as a scuba diver during a dog show at a mall in suburban Manila on Sunday April 27, 2008. Mondex bagged first place during the fashion show category.

I knew people dressed up their dogs, but I wouldn't have expected this in a mall dog fashion show! Haha.

One timer for it all....dream or nightmare?

Yep, it's a timer. It has four different timers so you can keep track of multiple things at once.

More than once I've had to kick off a timer on the microwave in order to time something different...or to actually use the microwave instead. At first, this sounded like a great idea.

And then, of course, my mind started to wander to which things I'd be timing at once. How would I keep track of which timer was for what? And what about those overly busy (or lazy) people who would get them mixed up, only to burn the cookies or fried potatoes because they didn't check the food they were timing. Hmm. It's either the multi-taskers dream....or nightmare, with timers buzzing all over the place.

The description on Amazon didn't really say anything about it either. I hunted it down elsewhere and found out it's LCD and has flashing lights to go with the audible timer....uh oh. So now we've got lights and sirens going off...woohoo!

There was a review that absolutely loved it, but sorry guys, for 30 bucks + shipping, I think I'll stick with the microwave...and maybe a cheap timer on the side that I can't for the life of me ever figure out how to get it to shut up, hehe.

For those interested, though, it comes in that lovely red up top (um, looks pink to me), black, white, and silver. Ooooo...fancy, hehe.
